I am embarrassed to say that I googled this instead of looking it up in the Bible, but I found that the 12 disciples acted on Jesus' last command: Matt 28 (The Message) "Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all that I have commanded you.
The disciples spread out and were missionaries in places like modern day Georgia, Bulgaria, Greece, India, Jerusalem, Judea, Ephesus, Italy, Asia, etc...
This was interesting to me... These disciples had experienced something that was totally unique to that group. It is easy for us to stay in our comfortable "groups"... especially when we have shared experiences. But that is not what Jesus commanded them to do and that is not what they did.
