I think of myself when I am looking for something... nothing makes me crazier! I get all wound up looking for car keys, I can't imagine how "hyperactive" I would be looking for Jesus who was not in the tomb where I thought he was. The angel did know just what had happened and what was to come... he was sitting... relaxed.
He sat because he had faith AND knowledge. Sometimes it is easier to believe when we KNOW but then it would not be faith. We are supposed to be where we are at any given moment. I lived outside NYC on Sept. 11 and so many people I know and others I heard of were held up that morning by a variety of mundane happenings- keys lost, kids sick, kids missed bus, missed train, car problems, etc...Since then I KNOW that when I am late or missing something or have to go back for something it is because I am right where God needs me to be.
Because the angel was sent by God and he knew that Jesus had risen and was no longer in the tomb.
