Week 1 - Part 4 of 5

What do you think it would look like today to "love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength"?

  1. I think when I see it in people sometimes I am intimidated by it... I want to dismiss it, because I don't want to do it. For example, I have some friends who are fostering two children in addition to their own two. So, they have 4 in their house two and under. They are doing this simply to show the love of Christ to these two babies. It is HARD. Every day... HARD. My friend is loving God and and He is the only one who could be giving her the strength to do this.

I think it would look very similar to the way a child loves. So trusting, honest and without any prejudice.

If I love God with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength then I will not want to have another god before Him or worship an idol or take His name in vain. And if I love my neighbor as I love myself, then I will not want to steal from or kill him or covet something that belongs to him. The idea is that if I can fully grasp this basic truth of loving God, then everything else will find its proper place.

So to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength means loving Him with every part of our being.

  4. I completely agree with Sabrina! Just an innocence of following, without any agenda or cause...
