The first thing that comes to mind is when Jesus asks that God not to hand him over and allow him to be crucified. It's in Matthew 26... the Message version puts it this way, "My Father, if there is any way, get me out of this. But please, not what I want. You, what do you want?"
I pray asking for what I want. I rarely follow up with asking God to do it His way... whatever that means for me.

ReplyDeleteJesus showed his love for God by loving others without conditions. He willingly allowed his own death to abide his Father's will.
